Best moments to enjoy it

Origin & history
Strawberries were introduced to Da Lat during the French colonial period, and the city's cool highland climate made it one of Vietnam's best strawberry-growing regions. Over time, strawberry farms and jam producers became a signature part of Da Lat's food identity and tourist market culture.
How to order & pay
For fresh berries, ask for 'dâu tươi loại 1' if you want larger, prettier fruit. Solo travelers should buy small 250g or 500g packs first to check quality.
Many market stalls prefer cash and small bills; some larger shops accept QR payments or cards.
Allergens, nutrition & health
Allergens
Usually none for fresh strawberries; jam may contain added preservatives and is processed in facilities that may handle other allergens
Nutrition & benefits
Fresh strawberries are high in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants; jam provides quick energy but is higher in sugar
Health notes
Wash fresh strawberries before eating, especially from open markets. Jam is sweet, so keep portions modest if you are watching sugar intake.
How to eat it
Eat fresh strawberries chilled as a snack, or spread strawberry jam on bread, crackers, pancakes, or yogurt.
